First State Bank's Mobile Deposit is available to customers who have:
  • An active FSB checking account for at least 30 days.
  • No more than 3 returned items (NSFs) in the past 3 months.
  • Enrolled in online and mobile banking and downloaded the First State Bank app for their iPhone or Android device.


Mobile Deposit Steps

  1. Endorse your check "FSB Mobile Deposit Only" below your signature.
  2. Access and login to your First State Bank mobile banking app
  3. Click menu button in top left corner and choose "Check Deposit"
  4. Take a picture of the front and back of your check using your smartphone or mobile device
  5. Enter your deposit amount
  6. Choose the "Deposit To" account
  7. Type in your email address where you would like to receive your deposit to be delivered
  8. Verify and approve your deposit
  9. Check your email for deposit verification from fxdbanking@firststatebnk.com
  10. Store your check in a secure location for 45 days following the successful completion of your deposit and then shred it for disposal.
 


MOBILE DEPOSIT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


Do I need to use a deposit slip to make a mobile deposit?
No. We will use what is called a substitute (electronic) deposit slip to post the deposit to your account. You will only need to take a picture of the front and back of the check being deposited.

What type of checks can I deposit with mobile deposit?
Checks made payable to the account owner and drawn on a bank within the United States can be deposited. You cannot deposit Money Orders, Foreign Checks, Savings Bonds or Third Party checks through mobile deposit.

How much does this service cost?
There is currently not a charge associated with this service; however, there may be charges associated with text messaging and data usage on your device. Check with your wireless provider for more information.

How do I endorse the check I am depositing?
Endorse your check "FSB Mobile Deposit Only" below your signature.

Is there a limit for deposits made through mobile deposit?
Yes. Checks must be equal to or less than $1,500.  The maximum of 2 items per day and $1,500 per day; maximum of 10 items deposited and $3,000 per 5 business day period.

Can I deposit more than one check at a time?
No. Only one check can be deposited per transaction. There is no limit on the number of checks you may deposit per day.

What if the check image I photographed is bad?
You have the option to retake the photographs of the check before submitting the deposit or you may cancel the deposit. If you are unable to photograph a clear image and have to cancel the deposit, you may deposit the check one of our First State Bank locations.

How will I know if the bank received my deposit?
You will receive an email notification when your deposit is received by the bank. This however does not indicate that your deposit has been approved and accepted by the bank. That will be confirmed in a separate email.

How will I know when the bank processes my deposit?
You will receive a second email notification on the status of your deposit. This email will indicate if the deposit was approved or declined for processing.  If declined, a reason will be provided.

What is the cutoff time for same-day processing with mobile deposit?
Deposits through mobile deposit, must be made before 4:00 pm Central Time in order to be processed on the current business day. All deposits made on weekends, bank holidays or those deposits made after 4:00 pm Central Time will be processed the following business day.

When will funds from a mobile deposit be available?
Generally, funds will be available to you on the business day following the date of deposit. Additional delays may apply based on any other factors as determined by our sole discretion. For further information, please refer to your Funds Availability Policy for your deposit account.

What do I do with the check after I deposit it using mobile deposit?
Do not immediately destroy the check. You may destroy the check 45 days after the successful completion of your deposit. We highly recommend that the checks be stored in a secure location until it is destroyed by shredding.
